The things I enjoy most about producing Classic Car Crazy are the comments and information I receive from our readers. In this post I will highlight a very special story I received from Ed Betso, one of our faithful readers. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ed for contributing this article to us. I want to publish his article just as I received it from Ed because I believe it would lose some of it’s impact if I modified it. The story below reflects how deep our love for classic cars can be.

I WAS 34 AND HAD A GREAT JOB WITH BROOKLYN UNION GAS CO FOR 13 YRS . MARRIED / ONE SON NOW 24 AND HAD A NICE HOUSE THAT I BOUGHT NEW IN 86 . ON MAY 11TH 1991 I WAS DRIVEING HOME FROM A SOFT BALL GAME , MY TIRE BLEW AND I LOST CONTROL AND HIT A LIGHT POLE / I HAD TO BE CUT FROM THE CAR . FELL INTO A COMA FOR 2 MONTHS WITH SEVERE HEAD TRAUMA / MY FAMILLY WAS TOLD IF I WOKE UP I;DE PROB BE A VEGETABLE AND CERTAINLY NEVER WALK / BUT AFTER 2 MONTHS I AWOKE / COULDN;T SPEAK / EAT OR BREATH ON MY OWN . BUT WITH HARD WORK N GUINEE STUBBORNESS / 4 YRS AND 2 REHABS LATER I WALKED OUT OF THE CLINIC ALTHOUGH WITH A WALKER BEING MY MOTOR FUNCTION DAMAGE WILL FOREVER AFFECT MY BALANCE / BUT I WENT HOME TO MY FAMILLY / IN 1995 , WITH ALL THE HEARTACHE N TERMOIL / MY WIFE OF 14 YRS DIVORCED IN 97 , SOLD THE HOUSE AND MOVED TO A NICE STUDIO APT / WHERE I/VE BEEN FOR 13 YRS . WENT TO A CAR SHOW WITH FRIENDS IN 2003 SPOTTED MY DREAM CAR / 69 RED CAMARO AND BOUGHT IT , NOW AFTER A REBUILT 350 ENGINE / 323 POSI REAR WITH TRACTION BARS / FLOWMASTER EXHAUST / 3 SP TURBO 350 TRANS AND A MAACO VIPER RED PAINT JOB IN 04 . AND 75 TROPHYS LATER THIS IS HOW SHE SITS . I WROTE A BOOK ON MY STORY / HAD A PUBLISHER . POWER PUBLICATIONS BUT THEY WANTED TO MANY CHANGES AND I PULLED IT BACK . SO I HAVE MY DREAM CAR / AND MY SANITY / I;LL LIVE A LONG TIME INSPITE THERE PROGNOSIS
